Autism fidget toys

I’m a very picky/fussy person when it comes to just about every aspect of my life and this includes items I use to help calm me down during meltdowns or to distract me so that a meltdown doesn’t happen. Fidget cubes and spinners tend to bore me and irritate me so they do more harm than good but then I came across different chain link items, of which I now have a couple and intend on buying more.

The first item I bought was a ring with a chain running through the middle but the ring turned out to be too small for my finger and the chain isn’t as easy to fidget with as other items. Then I came across just the chains on their own and I really enjoy the feel of them. I tend to have them in my pocket so I can grab them and fidget discreetly and just go about my day, this way no one can see anything wrong and this also helps to alleviate my anxiety. When I feel a meltdown coming on and I’m aggitated I feel like everyone can see it and that I’m being stared at and makes the situation feel worse so being able to pull myself out of that feeling discreetly makes a huge difference to my day to day life.

I would love to know what products you guys use and recommend as I’m always on the look out for a variety of items.

I decided I wanted to do something positive with my life and speak out about what it feels like to be an adult with autism.
